Elsinore 2032 Submits Comments on the 2025 Municipal Plan
The Elsinore 2032 Association has submitted a response to the public consultation on Helsingør Municipality’s Proposed Municipal Plan 2025. We argue that Helsingør needs a more cohesive development approach, where culture, urban development, and education are much more closely integrated—and where culture’s potential as a driving force for the city’s next era is fully harnessed.
In our response to the public consultation, we identify five areas where the plan should be strengthened:
1. The city and the harbor must be more closely connected
The city center, the harbor, and residential areas must be connected both physically and mentally. Culture can serve as a bridge-builder.
2. The Shipyard Halls hold national and international potential
We recommend that the second phase of Kulturhavnen be prioritized and that the Shipyard Halls be developed as a creative hub with a regional and European perspective.
3. The Gasworks Site Should Become a Culture and Knowledge Campus
If Helsingør is to become a city of learning, it requires a clear vision that integrates knowledge, innovation, and culture.
4. Modern, experience-oriented mobility
Traffic around the station and ferries should be improved so that arriving in Helsingør becomes an experience—and so that cultural attractions are easily accessible without a car.
5. Stronger cross-sectoral collaboration
We propose a Culture Alliance 2032 that brings together the municipality, cultural institutions, the business community, and civil society to implement the plan leading up to 2032.
