Elsinore 2032 Submits Consultation Response to Municipal Plan 2025

The Elsinore 2032 association has submitted a consultation response to Helsingør Municipality's Proposal for Municipal Plan 2025. We argue that Helsingør needs a more cohesive development, where culture, urban development, and education are much more strongly integrated – and where culture's potential as a driving force for the city's next era is fully utilized.

In our consultation response, we highlight five areas where the plan should be strengthened:

1. City and harbor need to be more closely connected
The city center, harbor, and residential areas should be linked physically and mentally. Culture can act as a bridge-builder.

2. The Shipyard Halls hold national and international potential
We recommend prioritizing the second phase of Kulturhavnen (Culture Harbor) and developing the Shipyard Halls as a creative powerhouse with a regional and European perspective.

3. The Gasworks Site should become a Culture and Knowledge Campus
If Helsingør wants to be an education city, it needs a clear vision that integrates knowledge, innovation, and culture.

4. Modern, experience-oriented mobility
Traffic around the station and ferries should be developed so that arriving in Helsingør becomes an experience – and so cultural offerings are easily accessible without a car.

5. Stronger cross-sector collaboration
We propose a Culture Alliance 2032 that brings together the municipality, cultural institutions, businesses, and civil society to work on implementation leading up to 2032.
