This is an invitation to all organizations based in the Municipality of Helsingør.
Tuesday, June 2, marks the 600th anniversary of Helsingør being granted its privileges as a market town. The occasion will be celebrated with an extensive anniversary program, culminating in a festive parade led by the Girls’ Guard.
All citizens are, of course, welcome to join in. Those who want to wave flags will be given birthday flags. But at the front of the procession, right behind the Girls’ Guard, the clubs can show off their best. With banners. Signs. Club colors. Drums. Singing. The only limit is your imagination.
To help us organize the overview and the parade, we therefore ask that the clubs register below. Come, sweet May—June 2 is going to be a celebration!
The Associations’ Festival Parade is organized in collaboration with Kulturnatten, the Helsingør Volunteer Center, the City of Helsingør, and Elsinore 2032.

BACKGROUND
As a community, Helsingør is, of course, more than just Kronborg Castle and royal power. It is a city that has been kept alive by community organizations over the course of several centuries.
Ever since the town was granted market privileges in 1426, one could perhaps say that the framework was established “from above” with a castle and churches. Commerce began to flourish, but in the 1800s, something emerged “from below”: associations, volunteerism, and community. As early as around 1900, there were hundreds of associations in Helsingør.
When we celebrate our 600th anniversary in 2026, this should be visible (and, ideally, audible). The parade is more than just a celebration. It tells the story of how Helsingør was founded as a city of power and trade, but lives on as a city of community.
In 1926, people took part in “splendid and imaginative historical parades.” Now we’re doing it again. Together.
We hope you'll join us!
